Muftiyah Zaheeda Sakhawat MBE

Muftiyah Zaheeda is the Founder and Principal of The Light of Knowledge Institute. She was born and raised in the U.K.

She holds Diplomas in Professional Management & Leadership, Advice and Guidance, and is a Qualified NVQ Assessor.

Muftiyah Zaheeda graduated from the Alimah Program in 2015 from NurulIlm Academy Dubai. She has her post graduation with a specialisation in Islamic jurisprudence (IFTA). She completed her specialisation in Arabic Grammar and Arabic Morphology in July 2023. She is a student of Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer and has been in the path of self-purification and Islamic spirituality since 2011. She has authorisation to teach all the major books of hadith by many renowned scholars including Shaykh Mufti Tauqeer (UAE), Shaykh ul Tafseer Maulana Sajjad Nomani (India), Shaykh ul Hadith, Hazrat Maulana Taqiuddin Nadwi (UAE).

Muftiyah Zaheeda also manages the Light of Knowledge Institute, she teaches the Alimah Course and delivers lectures and short courses across the world..

She is also a member of the International Women’s Darul ul Ifta Group.

Muftiyah Zaheeda served as a Civil Servant for over 20 years and was awarded an MBE award by the Queen for her service to the Community.
